Life has a funny way of leading us where we’re meant to go, often through the most unexpected

moments.

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of working in fashion. Inspired by shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and the glossy pages of Seventeen Magazine, I wanted to help people express themselves through style and feel confident in their own skin. Fast forward to my early twenties—armed with a fashion degree and a head full of dreams—I found myself immersed in the industry.

But the conversations I kept having with coworkers surprised me. While I was surrounded by fabrics and runways, it wasn’t fashion we were really talking about—it was their dreams, struggles, and how they could grow. Without meaning to, I became a safe space for others to open up, and I began to wonder: Was this my true calling?

Everything crystallized on the night of my 26th birthday.

At a piano bar in Miami, my best friend and I were belting out Whitney Houston classics when I met her—a tiny Caribbean woman in the crowd. We locked arms, swayed, and sang as if we’d known each other forever. Then, in the middle of the song, she leaned in and whispered, “My mother passed away today. I miss her so much already.”

Time stopped.

I hugged her close, searching for words. “You may miss her,” I said softly, “but think about how beautiful it is that now she gets to always be with you.”

Her tears fell, but so did her tension. She smiled—a bittersweet, peaceful smile. For a moment, we just held each other, strangers brought together by music, loss, and the need to be seen.

As the song ended, I turned to find my friend to bring her back so we could celebrate together. But when I turned back, the woman was gone. No trace of her remained in the crowd, almost as if she had vanished into thin air. I searched the entire bar, weaving between tables and peering into every corner, but it was as though she had never been there.

I remember telling my best friend, “I think I just met an angel.” To anyone else, it might have seemed like a random, fleeting encounter. But to me, it felt sacred—like a divine sign pointing me toward something greater.

That moment stayed with me, unlocking a deep desire to create more of these vulnerable, transformative connections.

That night taught me three life-changing lessons:

  1. Every connection has meaning. Even fleeting moments can change a life, whether it’s yours or someone else’s.

  2. Empathy is a gift. Holding space for someone’s pain is one of the most powerful things we can do.

  3. Follow your heart. If something stirs your soul, it’s worth exploring.

That’s part of why I became a life coach—to hold space, foster growth, and guide others toward the transformations they seek.

Have you ever experienced a moment that changed everything? Let’s connect—I’d love to hear your story and explore how we can create your next transformative moment together.
